Mikveh Monologues

8:30 PM–10:30 PM

The Mikveh Monologues shares touching stories of immersion experiences, teaches about the meaning of the ritual, and engages audiences in a conversation about the power of ritual in contemporary Jewish life. As a work for the stage, these ideas become immediate, accessible, and moving; outreach in the broadest sense.

About the Mikveh Monologues: The Mikveh Monologues (© 2005 Mayyim Hayyim) was created in 2004-2005 by internationally acclaimed author Anita Diamant and director Janet Buchwald. The play is based on interviews with men, women and children who have marked a personal life transition by immersing in a mikveh.  In the spring of 2006, Diamant and Buchwald created The Mikveh Monologues II featuring all new stories and songs.
