Randi Musnitsky

Rabbi Musnitsky has been an exceptionally qualified and accomplished member of the rabbinate for more than 28 years. She served as a pulpit rabbi for 18 years, initially in Cincinnati after ordination and for 14 years at Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill, NJ. In 2000, she was specially selected by the President of the Reform movement, Rabbi Eric Yoffie, to serve as the Regional Director for the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) in the New Jersey/West Hudson Valley Council, where she was responsible for supporting 55 congregations. Rabbi Musnitsky is now the senior rabbi at Temple Har Shalom. Rabbi Musnitsky came to Temple Har Shalom in 2007. During her tenure as senior rabbi she has dedicated her energies to creating a vital and vibrant community among her temple families. She is actively involved in every facet of congregation life including: lifecycle events, B’nai Mitzvah, Confirmation, Mountain Top School for Young Children, Religious School, youth group, adult education, outreach programs and innovative torah study . She has created a variety of programming incentives that have enhanced Temple Har Shalom with her warmth and enthusiasm. She is blessed to call Temple Har Shalom her spiritual and religious home.

Rabbi Musnitsky also devotes time to organizations both within and outside the Jewish community. She has been a member of the UJC Rabbinic Cabinet for ten years, as well as the Israel Bonds Rabbinic Cabinet. She serves on the Clergy Emergency Response Team and is active in the NJ Coalition of Religious Leaders and Bishops. Rabbi Musnitsky has acted as an Ambassador for the American Heart Association since 1998. She now serves as a member of their Board, and in 2011 she was awarded their highest honor of “Women of Distinction.” She is the recipient of the Jewish Community Relations Council Interfaith Leadership Award and was appointed by Governor Corzine to serve on the New Jersey Commission on National Service in recognition of her lifelong commitment to building community and performing community service. Most recently she was named Chair of the Joint Commission of Placements for the Reform Movement.

Rabbi Randi Musnitsky is a graduate of Brandeis University and HUC-JIR. She holds a post-graduate degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling and received her Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling at HUC in 2010. She presently lives in Warren with her husband, Rabbi Ron Kaplan, the Rabbi of Temple Beth Am in Parsippany. They have two sons, Jonah and Rafael.
